Job Description

Assist in the development, testing and implementation of financial applications and is responsible for the preparation of complex and critical financial measurements regarding operating results, new business opportunities and special projects. Manage the day to day accounting operations and supervise accounting staff. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Business Management/Treasurer and works with Accounting and Administrative staffs.


  • Participate in the development and maintenance of performance metrics, measurements, methods, and targets; assist in identifying performance improvement opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing suggestions on the use and interpretation of analyses, reports, methodologies, systems.
  • Will assume significant responsibility for preparation of the annual revenue budget.
  • Maintain budgets and cost effectiveness, interpreting financial reports, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Design and complete research studies to forecast revenues and costs.
  • Work with complex, large-scale relational databases, statistical programs, and other tools to compile and interpret quantitative data.
  • Develop appropriate business conclusions and identify trends from statistical information.
  • Compile quarterly metrics that will provide comprehensive financial insights across all businesses
  • Provide answers/analyses to help address questions and concerns from management.
  • Review key monthly financial system imports for data integrity.
  • Develop, build, and analyze financial models, prepare monthly revenue forecasts.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Organize, define and control project specific procedures for the administration of a project including finance, procurement, document control, communication, accounting, customs clearance, taxes.
  • Interface with other departments, business units, vendors, 3rd parties, and contractors as required to fulfill duties.
  • Reconciliations of the budgets of the projects with general ledger books and cash flow reports.
  • Review monthly reports with Project Administrators to ensure that costs are within budget.
  • Arrange monthly communication with Project Managers and Project Accountants for feedback on progress and any areas of concern.
  • Revenue Recognition
  • Preparation of month-end schedules and reports to Corporate and Division Accounting.
  • Manage accounting staff
  • Assist in month end closing activities



  • Highly proficient at data manipulation and analysis, proficient at developing data tables and report design for senior management presentations. Data mining and statistical modeling experience a definite plus.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards and principals
  • Ability to complete assignments with reasonable oversight, direction and supervision
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel (advance level of expertise in spreadsheet creation/design). Knowledge of SQL, Access and Powerpoint is a plus.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints and be detail oriented.
  • Must be proficient with financial systems and have the ability to efficiently grasp the fundamentals of using financial systems which includes ADP, CostPoint and Deltek Time & Expense in order to effectively perform the research required and to generate reporting that is needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, organize and prioritize numerous tasks, working with the Controller to identify priorities.
  • Must exercise sound judgment.
  • Have good negotiation skills, to be precise and well organized in their work.
  • Good analytical skills are a must.
  • Communication skills are required to monitor and supervise the activities of the Project Accountants assigned to each project.
  • Must display motivation to identify and solve problems related to projects (expediting, taxes, contracts, etc.)
  • Must work closely with Sr. Director, Business Management/Treasurer.


  • BA/BS in finance, project administration or accounting
  • Minimum 8 years in operations or project accounting / finance.
  • CPA Preferred
  • Must be extremely well versed in forecasting, budgeting, and acquisition work.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and DFARS
  • Must be extremely articulate and able to communicate well with executives
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel application (macros, links, formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Requires strong verbal & written communication skills
  • High level of professionalism, initiative & strong work ethic
  • Good problem solving abilities, able to prioritize tasks
  • Experience in proposal development, departmental budgets and customer negotiations
  • Must be able to keep information confidential
  • Must be able to work under pressure & adhere to deadlines
